About
My love of finance was piqued when I began my career at Lehman Brothers Investment Banking rising to the position of Vice President of New Business Development. I became engrossed in the world of mergers and acquisitions and advised senior managers and owners of companies on strategies to improve their business operations. I created Investment Banking Training Manuals for underwriting debt and equity financings and wrote a training module for the Securities Training Corporation in New York City.
In 1999 I began teaching entrepreneurship at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, which was a natural segue from the world of investment banking. At the college I presently teach Starting Your Small Business, Marketing and Finance modules both live and on-line.
In 2000 to 2002 I also taught marketing management at Polytechnic University Graduate School, Brooklyn, NY.
Together with a business partner we launched in 1991 a small television station, The Arabic Channel, targeting the growing Arabic population in the New York City area. We also developed a multi-language web portal featuring several languages and went into a joint venture with EMI Music to sell international music on our website.
